It’s no secret that I am a Star Wars fan, but my love of this universe goes beyond the films: it introduced me to the incredibly moving power of orchestral and symphonic music. Though my knowledge of classical music is still quite burgeoning, the music of Star Wars will always be close to my heart and many of these songs bring tears to my eyes. As time has progressed, it’s been a joy to watch other composers build and expand upon John Williams’ foundational score, each adding their own flare to help flesh out the Star Wars galaxy’s musical landscape. There is anger, love, joy, sadness, contemplation in these songs but most of all: heart. May the Force Be With You, today and always.
